The beleaguered Indian team was cornered, and the attacks were coming from all sides. Whichever way they looked, there was more criticism coming in. Did the brickbats get to them, finally? Was that the reason they put in such a fiery performance against Sri Lanka yesterday, a performance through which the wounded tigers showed the world what they were really capable of?

If this video is any indication (warning: video contains abusive language), that does seem to be the case. As a presumably drunk heckler decided to heap abuses on a bunch of Indians practising in the nets at the Gabba, the players snapped. Watch as Rohit Sharma and Praveen Kumar let fly with their response, language be darned. And you can only smile at Manoj Tiwary being the only cool head in the encounter, admonishing the hecklers about the ills of alcohol. A youtube moment, if ever there was one.

One thing’s for sure – if India do make it to the final, the Australians better beware. They are wounded, and they won’t hold back if attacked any more.
