About Website Status Checker

Website Status Checker tells you whether a site is reachable from the internet. It requests the address from our server and reports the HTTP status code, response time, server type and any redirects. If the site is up here but not on your device, the problem is likely your network, DNS or browser.

How to use Website Status Checker

  1. Enter a website address such as example.com.
  2. Press Check status.
  3. Read the result: UP or DOWN, the HTTP code and response time.
  4. Open the details to see redirects and the final address.

Key features

  • HTTP status code with plain-language reason
  • Response time in milliseconds
  • Full redirect chain (up to 5 hops)
  • HTTPS check and server header
  • Clear DNS and timeout errors

How it works

The server requests the address (HEAD, falling back to GET), follows up to 5 redirects and times the response.

Important notes before you rely on the result

  • Generators and encoders run in your browser. The IP and website status tools need our server, and say so on their page.
  • Test generated QR codes, links and tags before printing or publishing them.

Limits and supported formats

  • Public websites only: private, local and reserved network addresses are refused for security.
  • Up to 12 checks per minute from one connection.
  • A site can block automated checks and show 403 here while working in a browser.

Privacy

The address you enter is checked from our server. It is not saved; nothing else is sent. Only the address you enter is sent to our server to make the check; it is not stored.

Website Status Checker: frequently asked questions

The site is UP here but will not open for me. Why?

The problem is probably local: your internet connection, DNS, a firewall, or browser cache. Try another network or restart your router.

What do the status codes mean?

2xx means success, 3xx a redirect, 4xx a client error such as 404 Not Found or 403 Forbidden, and 5xx a server error such as 500 or 503.
